Association of James Braid Courses

As part of the continuing endeavour to add value to the playing membership of Aberdovey, we have joined the 'Association of James Braid' courses and also the embryonic 'Fowler Association'. Aberdovey Members can avail themselves of the benefits of these organisations by virtue of the fact that both these eminent course designers had, at different times, a hand in the course layout here.

Formed in 2009 , the Association of James Braid Courses now has over 300 member clubs of the some 411 courses James Braid either designed originally or altered (of the 411, 39 are defunct and 6 were plans only).  The courses are to be found in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales with one in New York.  Aberdovey Golf Club members and members of all the clubs in the Association can enjoy preferential green fees at these courses, by booking in advance.

The 'spirit' of the agreement is that it will not be abused by repeated use at any one course and a limit of no more than two visits in one year to any one course should not be exceeded. The privilege is extended to Aberdovey Members as individuals only and not to a party of golfers.

Full details of the applicable courses, the booking terms and conditions etc can be obtained from the Aberdovey Golf Club office but as an illustration, the following is the Association of James Braid course list for 2016.

The Fowler Association is very much in its infancy but has similar aims of allowing limited play at Member's Guest green fee rates at certain Fowler courses - initially Beau Desert Golf Club; others are in the pipeline. Different terms and conditions will apply at the various courses.
