We are continuing to monitor the COVID-19 situation and, in light of the Prime Minister’s announcement today, the clubhouse will be closed with immediate effect.

There will be no bar or catering services available until further notice and the upstairs of the clubhouse is shut. The locker rooms will remain open with access only from the players’ entrance by the 18th green.

However, as we recognise that the health and wellbeing of playing this great game benefits all age groups, members are encouraged to carry on playing golf with the team striving to provide the game in the safest possible environment.

The practice facilities will remain open albeit the flags have been removed from the putting and chipping areas and the cups have been raised on the putting green to prevent the ball going in the cup.

On the course, please pay attention to the following:
• Respect social distancing - the ‘2 metres’ rule should apply throughout the round.
• Don’t shake hands before or after your game.
• Do not share any equipment such as golf clubs, golf balls or rangefinders
• Always leave the flag in the hole. Why not play “gimmes”? Otherwise carefully remove golf ball from the hole, with your gloved hand not with a golf club.
• There will be no bunker rakes on the course. The greenkeepers will rake bunkers in the morning. Thereafter please use your club or foot to smooth the surface.
• No divot bags are being provided. Please replace all divots.
• Ball cleaners have been taken out of use. Wipe your golf balls on a towel instead.
• The shoe cleaning machine is out of action.
• Shoes may be changed in the car park to avoid use of the clubhouse.

In the locker rooms, all towels will be removed therefore please bring your own towel if you wish to use the showers.

Whilst in the golf shop, members are requested to respect social distancing, refrain from touching any merchandise unnecessarily, and use the hand sanitiser before any transaction.

Contactless credit card transactions would be preferred rather than using cash or members’ cards.

Coaching services continue and Andy will still be available for tuition. Buggy and trolley hire remains available with equipment sanitised between users.

As government information is liable to change, we are monitoring the situation and will react if and when required.

Golf clubs remain (with care) as close to a ‘safe haven’ as exists, away from this exceptionally tough set of circumstances.

Keep calm, wash your hands and keep playing golf...!
